Today is National Coming Out Day. Sooo...here I go. This may come as no surprise to most of you folks, but I have long identified myself as bisexual and had been in a monogamous marriage to a woman for 16 years. Over these past couple of years, we had a tough time with some very difficult obstacles in our relationship. We've separated and I've come to accept that I'm really mostly gay. I'm slowly coming out to friends and family, but that will continue to be a cautious process (as per my therapist's guidance).
Whatever your beliefs are on homosexuality and bisexuality, please take time this day to support your fellow humans who might be struggling with their identities, or with reaction from friends and family as they come out to them.
Society has come a LONG way...but we still have a long way to go before all people are treated as equals.
