Today is National Coming Out Day.  Sooo...here I go.  This may come as no surprise to most of you folks, but I have long identified myself as bisexual and had been in a monogamous marriage to a woman for 16 years.  Over these past couple of years, we had a tough time with some very difficult obstacles in our relationship.  We've separated and I've come to accept that I'm really mostly gay.  I'm slowly coming out to friends and family, but that will continue to be a cautious process (as per my therapist's guidance).

Whatever your beliefs are on homosexuality and bisexuality, please take time this day to support your fellow humans who might be struggling with their identities, or with reaction from friends and family as they come out to them.

Society has come a LONG way...but we still have a long way to go before all people are treated as equals.

Very happy for you Derek, one step at a time will lead you to that right place in life. Who ever thought I would be in Australia but that is where my perfect love was waiting. Wish you the best and will be here for you anytime.

Congratulations :) It's always nice to make people aware of who you truly are. I'm glad you have taken that next step in the process of becoming the real you. I identify myself as bisexual but only my closest of friends know...I need to take that next step but I'm not fully ready. I feel like it's going to be sooner than later though :)

Thanks, man. Sigh...and like I said...this will be a cautious process. Unfortunately, many of the people in my life will not accept this well...especially my Mom and my oldest brother. I may just never tell them. My Mom is in her 70s so...and my brother and I are already pretty estranged anyway.
